S/mileage PR Attack!
As InsaneLampshade has pointed out, S/mileage are making a great attempt at a main-stream debut. Not only do all four members have blogs, today, all four members opened up twitter accounts. As I moaned about two members taking over Reina’s radio spot before, I take it back a little. Hello! Project, Up Front and S/mileage seem to be doing everything within their grasp to make this debut work, and I hope it does!
You can find all relevant links to Ayaka, Yuuka, Kanon and Saki‘s blogs and twitter accounts on their brand new website http://s-mileage.jp/ - but if you’re lazy:
Ayaka Wada – Twitter / Blog
Yuuka Meada – Twitter / Blog
Kanon Fukuda – Twitter / Blog
Saki Ogawa - Twitter / Blog
Let’s hope these girls crack it, and that the other 4 main H!P acts start following in their footsteps! Oh, to overshadow your peers. Forgive me for my past scepticism S/mileage, you’ve won me over on sheer effort. And as you seem to be the main H!P asking for it at the moment, I’ll definitely pay attention to you now!

I think it’s great, too, but what kills me about it is that it does look like the girls are pouring forth more effort when really they’re doing what the girls in the older groups have been begging to be allowed to do for ages. Shige-san, for example, is really throwing herself into this blog thing 1000%, and I would love to see more of the older girls allowed to publicly blog or tweet.
Here’s hoping we’ll see more H!P social media in a few months once S/mileage debuts – I would bet that they’ll hold off until then in order to allow the younger girls to get a fan foothold, but I hope they don’t wait longer or neglect the older girls in this respect. I mean, it wouldn’t kill them to give Mobeki decent webpages. ^^;
Hm yes, I supposed I never considered it was more H!P not wanting the girls to blog/tweet etc rather than lack of initiative!
Have to admit, I would much rather see MM (at least Reina, Sayu, LL & JJ) tweet than S/mileage. I forgot how controling H!P and UFA can be with the girls at time.
